Field rats are the main pest of paddy plants from a group of mammals which have very different characteristics compared to other main rice pests. Field rats destroy rice crops at all levels of rice crop growth and in rice storage. Severe damage occurs when rats attack in the generative phase, because at that stage the plants do not have the ability to form new tillers. Rats damaged the rice plants starting from the center of the plot, then extending towards the edge. A large increase in the population of lowland rats recently occurred in Combongan Village, Sukoharjo Regency which resulted in damage to rice plants which resulted in crop failure. The control of rat pests that are currently carried out through conventional methods includes mass gropyokan, pumping water into the rat nest and electric shocks. The proposed research tries to apply technology using ultrasonic waves to repel field rat pests which are expected to help farmers, especially the Krida Mukti Farmer Group, Combongan Village, Sukoharjo Regency. The research method is by designing a series of ultrasonic wave generators which are then used to repel field rat pests in Combongan Sukoharjo Village with the testing stages of wetland mouse pest repellents in the laboratory and field testing. The results showed that field rat pests were disturbed by their activity when the ultrasonic frequency reached a value of 40.5 - 49 KHz with a transmission distance of up to 8.5 meters, to increase the transmission distance an ultrasonic wave amplifier circuit was needed.Unduhan
